Pardon Me...
That experience was profound for me, and I feel that I would be doing a disservice to the members of Iraq Veterans Against the War - and the Iraqi people - if I just said "That was nice." and moved on.
We comfortable Americans just don't get what it would be like to have foreign soldiers patrolling our streets, aiming guns at the heads of our family members, taking away our husbands, and killing our neighbors who just want to protect their land. Not today, anyway. Well, on second thought, many immigrants know what I'm talking about, but that's a story for another day.
As of today, 3592 of their buddies have died in Iraq. Tens of thousands of their fellow soldiers have mental and physical problems. And hundreds of thousands Iraqis are dead.
Support Iraq Veterans Against the War. They've been there. They know.
