Carol For Peace - Social Justice Activist in Denver
Carol lives in the Denver, Colorado area with her husband, her best buddy dog (Buddha) and cat (Kitty). She aspires to work toward a healthier and more peaceful world by exploring Mahatma Gandhi's non-violence teachings; the philosophy of the Sufi Way International; Marshall Rosenberg's NonViolent Communication (NVC), and most of all, her own inner voice.
Carol works with the Arvada Peace and Justice Commission and supports various other local peace and justice groups. In the summer of 2005, she went to Camp Casey near Crawford, Texas to support Cindy Sheehan (pictured above with Carol), whose son, Casey, died in the Iraq war. Carol joined thousands of others as they camped outside Bush's "ranch", waiting for an answer to the question, "What noble cause?". After returning to Colorado, she co-founded a Women in Black silent vigil in the Lakewood/Golden area that still stands weekly.
Carol truly believes that, as Gandhi said, we must be the change we wish to see in the world. We must stop the war within our own selves if we wish to stop the wars of the world.
